I was in the 5th. Grade of school when I first saw this memorial monument to my great grandparents and it and the Civil War marker for another great grandparent in Owensboro, KY was a strong motivator to learn more about my family history! Seeing their photo made the fact that they once were living and raised a family seem more real to a kid like me.
