 The stone portion of this monument was designed by Terry Joy of Joy Monuments out of Louisville, KY. Tom White of Bethel, Maine was the sculptor of the bronze parts of the monument.

The Tri-State Genealogical Society wishes everyone a very Happy Easter, today!

The photo below is a giant Easter Bunny at Washington Square Mall where Becky & I have been taking our 45-minute walks. Becky is standing in front of this big stuffed rabbit.

Remember that TSGS will meet at Sirloin Stockade on Tuesday night instead of Willard Library for our Annual Dinner Meeting. It is a buffet style restaurant, so we suggest for everyone to arrive no later than 6PM with the informal brief meeting beginning at 7 followed shortly with our guest speaker Terry Hughes.

After all of the rainy days in the tri-state area, at the time of posting this... the sun is shining brightly. I hope it will be a nice day for most everyone to enjoy Easter with family & friends for at least part of the day. We hope to go to the Evansville Zoo later this afternoon. Earlier this morning I sent info via email to a newly discovered cousin from my Haynes/Huff line of the area around Breckinridge County, KY. The Haynes & Huff families came from Virginia about 1800 into Mercer County, KY and then into Breckinridge, Ohio & Grayson Counties before going to Owensboro, Evansville and many other areas in the United States. My "new" cousin's ancestors went to the Texas area in the 1830's or so.

Rock Chapel... Jasper, Indiana

Thanks to Ernie Payne, on our way home from Spring Mill, we stopped in Jasper to see the open rock chapel on the grounds of St. Joseph Catholic Church. It is made up of round (ball-shaped) rock formations called geodes that are cemented together. Ernie & I share a love of geology and fossil collecting. Don Counts took this photo. Others in the SUV were driver Ken Gilkey, Chris Myers & J.D. Strouth.

The six of us (plus Robert Hall, Rex Legler, & Ed Hitchcock) of the Ohio Valley Chapter of SAR attended the Indiana Society of SAR Annual Meeting in Spring Mill Park on Saturday. J.D., Don & I were re-elected to our State SAR Offices
