Sunset at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville, KY

Don Counts & I as TSGS President & Vice-President and as local chapter & state officers of the Ohio Valley SAR Chapter and the Indiana Society of the Sons of the American Revolution, attended a ground breaking for a large monument in this veteran's cemetery to honor 71 men that provided service to the Revolutionary War.  These men lived or were buried in Christian County.  One of them was my ancestor, Thomas West, Jr.

In the foreground of this photo is the entrance to the cemetery with the tall monument featuring the American Bald Eagle and the large flag of the United States.  The eagle is golden in color and is about 30 feet high.

Another one of God's beautiful sunsets!

Taken on Interstate 64 on way back home from Louisville Zoo on 06 Jun 2009. Becky & I had such a nice trip to Louisville. We ate at Joe's Crab Shack, toured a nearby car cruise-in and local bands playing music (fund raiser for children) and then to the zoo where we witnessed a wedding in the cemetery in the zoo! This sunset was just a wonderful close to a great day. Many have liked the sunsets on this blog, so I thought I would share this one with you.

Becky & I witnessed this sunset last night and thought of how great God is. When we saw the sunset, we did not see geese flying across it... this makes Dee's photo even better. The photo was taken from their new home. Thanks, Dee & Kevin for sharing this special moment.
